Schools and educational programmes

The Rock Museum is also an extended classroom where you can work on history, music, language, arts and critical thinking through the soundtrack of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. We offer a specific programme for schools, secondary schools and music schools, with activities designed so that rock enters the classroom with genuine pedagogical purpose.

We have worked with:

Curricular visits

We design guided visits adapted to each educational stage (primary, secondary, sixth form and vocational), connecting the museum visit with curriculum content curriculars. Cada visita inclou objectius didàctics clars, durada recomanada i propostes d’activitats prèvies i posteriors a classe.

  • History and social context of each decade (wars, social movements, civil rights, technologies…).
  • Language and communication through the analysis of rock lyrics and icons.
  • Arts, design and technology of sound (guitars, amplification, recording).

Workshops for schools
of music and instrumental groups

For music schools, choirs and combos, we offer specific workshops that connect musical practice with the instruments and stories of the museum. We can adapt the level of content according to the age and training of the group.

  • Active listening workshops and song analysis.
  • Sessions on iconic guitars, effects and the languages of rock.
  • Discussion spaces on scenes, gender, the music industry and youth culture.

Pedagogical dossiers
and resources for teachers

To facilitate the preparation of the trip, we make available to schools:

  • Downloadable pedagogical dossiers with contextualisation, preparatory activities and exercises to work through after the visit.
  • Worksheets for pupils, adapted by stage.
  • Teacher’s guides with recommendations for integrating the visit into interdisciplinary projects.

Logistical
information

We want the organisation to be as straightforward as possible, so, within the pedagogical dossier, we will provide:

  • Recommended timetables for school visits in the morning.
  • Approximate duration of activities and capacity per group.
  • Special pricing policies for educational institutions and accompanying teachers.
  • Information on accessibility, rest areas and museum regulations.
